Sanjay Raut Bail: Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut came out of Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail on Wednesday evening, hours after he was granted bail by a special court in a money laundering case. At around 5 pm, Raut’s lawyers sent the bail order to Arthur Jail Road and at around 6.50 pm, Raut came out of the jail. He was in jail for about three months. Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena is very happy with him getting bail. The party on Wednesday said “the lion has returned” after a court granted bail to Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut in a money laundering case.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) spokesperson Sushma Andhare told reporters that as long as there is a leader like Sanjay Raut in the party, it has no fear. The deputy leader of the party said, “The tiger is back (the lion has returned)”. Raut, a Rajya Sabha member, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on July 31 this year. He is presently in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in judicial custody. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Rohit Pawar tweeted a video of a tiger being released from its cage and tagged Raut. He told reporters that truth has won.
The blessings of the public were with you – brother
Sunil Raut, brother of Sanjay Raut and MLA from Vikhroli, said, “The blessings of the people were with Sanjay Raut. He will again start working for the party so that saffron will wave over the Legislative Assembly.” After he was granted bail, the ED appealed for not passing the bail order till Friday. However, the court rejected the ED’s application. The ED then said that it would move the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the bail order and would seek an interim order for stay on it. A lawyer for Raut said that they would try to complete the formalities for Raut’s release from jail by Wednesday evening.
