IMD issued alert for 3 days
According to the Meteorological Department, such a weather has happened after the formation of a low pressure area over the South-West Bay of Bengal off the coast of Sri Lanka. According to the information, this pressure is expected to move north-westwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts by the morning of November 12. IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many areas of the state for the next 3 days.
Schools and colleges closed
In view of all this, a holiday has been declared for school children up to class 8 in Tirupattur, Madurai, Karuri, Dindigul and Thenik in Tamil Nadu. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in some other states including Tamil Nadu. After this, schools and colleges have been closed in many districts of Tamil Nadu. Holiday has been declared in schools in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Vellore, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Villupuram and Ariyalur districts due to rain in Tamil Nadu.
Anti cyclone became the reason
According to the Meteorological Department, such weather has happened due to anti cyclone. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, Tamil Nadu’s Ranipettai, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakkurichi, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai and Sivaganganathai along with Madhyamik and Sivaganganathapur in Tamil Nadu. it might rain.
It is raining in Puducherry too
Apart from this, heavy rains are continuing in Puducherry since Thursday night. In view of the situation, holidays have been declared in schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal on Friday and Saturday. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, light rain with one or two places may occur over South Interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Also, light to moderate rain is very likely at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala.
