Shrikant Tyagi: A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budh Nagar district on Friday rejected the bail application of Shrikant Tyagi. Tyagi was arrested last month after a purported video of a Noida woman assaulting and abusing her came to the fore. As per the order of the court, Special Judge (Gangster Act) of District and Sessions Court Rannvijay Pratap Singh rejected the bail plea. Tyagi’s lawyer Sushil Bhati has confirmed the dismissal of the bail plea.
A case has been registered against Tyagi in many sections.
The Noida Police had arrested 34-year-old Tyagi from Meerut on August 9 and booked him under the Gangster Act and the Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. Apart from the Gangster Act, Tyagi was also booked for cheating on his cars for using stickers and emblems of the state government, which are issued only to members of the assembly. Tyagi was described as a BJP office-bearer. However, the party had denied ties with him.
Samajwadi Party met Tyagi’s family
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Noida (Rural) unit general secretary Raghavendra Dubey said that the SP delegation on Friday met the family members, including Srikant Tyagi’s wife Anu Tyagi, at her house in Grand Omaxe Society, Sector-93B. and demanded a judicial inquiry into the entire matter. Dubey said a delegation led by former Uttar Pradesh minister and MLA Shahid Manzoor and former minister Narad Rai met Tyagi’s family.
According to Dubey, during the meeting, Anu Tyagi told the delegation how the police had allegedly harassed the family and that only a part of their house was demolished was “injustice” as many other residents of her society had also harassed them in public places. has been encroached upon. Later, during a press conference here, Manzoor said, “Tyagi is getting punished for his mistakes, but his wife and family were subjected to atrocities by the police.” and action should be taken against whoever is guilty.
