Karnataka Road Accident: Six members of a family, including two women and a six-month-old child, were killed in a road accident in Karnataka’s Yadgir district. According to the police, the accident took place near Arakera village of Gurmitkal taluk of the district late on Thursday night. However, a three-year-old child survived the accident. The injured child has been referred to a hospital in Kalaburagi for treatment. According to police sources, the incident took place due to a head-on collision between a car and a vehicle laden with luggage.
Family was returning home after religious rituals
According to the police, the victim’s family was returning to Yadgir district after performing some religious rituals at a dargah in Telangana. According to officials, those killed in the accident were residents of Hutti village in Lingsagur taluk of Raichur district. The collision between the two vehicles was so severe that four people died on the spot while two died on the way to the hospital. Senior police officials, including Yadgir Superintendent of Police C B Vedamurthy, visited the accident site. Police have started investigation by registering a case at Gurmitkal police station.
