Sonia Gandhi National Herald Case: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi will again appear before the ED today in the National Herald money laundering case. Earlier on Tuesday, he was questioned by the ED for more than 6 hours. After this interrogation, he was asked to appear once again on Wednesday. On the other hand, Congress is still preparing for a protest against this action of ED. Congress is preparing to take up this matter from Parliament to the road today. On Tuesday, Sonia Gandhi appeared before the ED and recorded her statement. Sonia left the ED office around 7 pm. Earlier, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had reached the ED office at 11 am on Tuesday with her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra under ‘Z+’ security cover. Priyanka Gandhi stayed in the ED office, while Rahul Gandhi left immediately.

After about three hours of interrogation, Sonia Gandhi left the ED office at around 2 pm. It was told that they have been given a lunch break. After this, she returned to the ED office at around 3.30 pm.

Earlier on July 21, Sonia Gandhi was questioned by the ED for more than two hours in the National Herald case. At that time Sonia Gandhi had answered 28 questions of the ED. He is believed to have been questioned over his involvement in the Sonia Gandhi National Herald and Young Indian Private Limited Company.
On Tuesday, while ED was interrogating Sonia Gandhi, Congress took to the streets in protest against this action of ED. Congress MPs tried to take out a march from Parliament House to Rashtrapati Bhavan. But the police stopped the Congress MPs at Vijay Chowk. Rahul Gandhi sat on a dharna at Vijay Chowk. Several Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi were taken into custody.
