Srinagar News: A terrorist was accurately traced by a dog soldier named Axel in an army operation. After which he died due to bullet injuries in the encounter between the army and the terrorist. On this, the army paid tribute to its dog soldier ‘Axel’ on Sunday and buried him with full honours. Due to Axel’s ability, the security forces were successful in saving a mosque. The terrorist was identified as Akhtar Hussain Bhat, a resident of Kupwara. He was killed in an eight-hour-long encounter in Vanigam Bala area of ​​Creeri in Baramulla district on Saturday. The slain terrorist had links with the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The mosque was 10 meters away from the house that was to be built

Officials said that two-year-old Axel, who played a key role in the operation, was a German Shepherd dog who was posted in the 26 dog unit of the army. After an army man and a policeman were injured during the operation, Axel is put to work. Axl had a camera mounted on his body. An official said, “There is a mosque 10 meters away from the house that was to be targeted, which required accurate information. A bigger weapon could not have been used to kill a terrorist.” Excel accurately traced the hiding terrorist. But in the process he became a victim of enemy bullets. Due to Excel, the security forces were able to eliminate the terrorist without damaging the mosque.

Army thanks Axl for his service

The Srinagar-based Army’s Chinar Corps tweeted a photo of a German Shepherd dog, “Thank you Excel for your service.” The Indian Army paid a heartfelt tribute to Excel at a function held at Pattan on Sunday. Major General SS Salaria, General Officer Commanding of Kilo Force, paid tribute to the martyr dog. Axel was buried in the premises of the 26 Army Dog Unit in the presence of the unit’s personnel and other officers.
