The Supreme Court quashed the order passed by the Allahabad High Court in February 2022 granting bail to the accused who opened fire at the vehicle of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi. . The Supreme Court has directed the accused to surrender himself before the jail authority within a week from today. At the same time, the top court has asked the Allahabad High Court to take a fresh decision on the bail plea of the accused keeping in mind the evidence.
The attack took place in February this year.
Let us tell you that in February this year, AIMIM Chief Kithor was on his way to Delhi after an election program in Meerut, when his vehicle was fired upon near Chhijarsi toll plaza. Though nothing happened to Owaisi in the firing, he narrowly escaped. After which the Uttar Pradesh Police immediately swung into action and identified the attackers and arrested them. After this, the accused had said in their statement to the police that they were angry with Owaisi’s speeches.
The accused had told the reason for the attack
A confession of Sachin, one of the accused who opened fire on Owaisi, also came to the fore. In this, Sachin Sharma had told the policemen that in 2014 a statement of Akbaruddin Owaisi, brother of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, had come, in which he said that this Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar are all of our fathers and grandfathers. Sachin had told that I felt bad and angry after hearing that statement.
