T20 WC 2022 Final Melbourne Weather Updates : The final of the T20 World Cup 2022 is now near. On November 13, the England and Pakistan team will be seen clashing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Meanwhile, before the final match in Melbourne, there are reports that the weather there is not good. It might rain on the day of the final. However, keeping in mind the possibility of rain, the ICC has also kept a reserve day system. But the reserve day is only on November 14 and it may rain on this day as well. If it happens that it rains on both the days and the match is not played, then according to the rules of the ICC, both the teams reaching the final will be declared joint winners. This has happened in ICC tournaments even before this.

Rain likely in Melbourne on November 13 and 15

The T20 World Cup final between England and Pakistan to be held at the MCG and the next day’s Reserve Day is threatening rain, which could declare these two teams joint winners. At present, Melbourne has a 95 percent chance of rain on Sunday with up to 25 mm of rain. According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, the Meteorological Department says that the possibility of rain is very high. The chances of heavy rain accompanied by thunder are very high. Unfortunately, even the reserve day for the match on Monday has a 95 per cent chance of rain with five to 10 mm of rain. The rules of the tournament for the final state that each team must play at least 10 overs in a knockout stage match. If rain fails to play both days, England and Pakistan will be forced to share the trophy.

These are the ICC rules for the final
According to the report, the first priority, if necessary, will be to complete the shortened match on Sunday, meaning the overs will be reduced before the safe day. He said that if the match has started on Sunday but could not be completed, then it will start on reserve day from where it was stopped. Once the toss is done, the match will be considered live. The match will begin at 7 pm local time and if no play takes place, the match will be held on a safe day on Monday, starting at 3 pm local time. According to the rules of play, even if a safe day is given, every effort will be made to finish the match on the designated day with a provision to reduce the overs and if the minimum number of overs required for the match cannot be bowled on the designated day, then the match will be called as reserve day. But it will be completed. According to this, if the match has started on the scheduled day and the overs have been reduced after a rain interruption but further play cannot be played, then the match will start on the reserve day with the same ball that was to be bowled on the previous day.

Rain in the knockouts of the ICC tournament
The last time the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final between India and New Zealand was played on both days due to rain. The 2002 Champions Trophy final between India and Sri Lanka was also washed out due to rain. But then according to the rules of play, a new match was to be started on a safe day but this too was cancelled. Three group stage matches at the MCG were called off without a ball being bowled due to rain while overs were reduced in one.
