T20 World Cup 2022: Two great teams from Asia have qualified for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan are a team that everyone wants to see a collision between. Since these two teams have made it to the semi-finals, everyone is wishing that these two teams should win their semi-final match face-to-face in the final. Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson is also keen that the final between these two teams should be played.

What did Shane Watson say

Shane Watson said, “Everyone would love to see Pakistan and India in the final. Unfortunately I missed the first (Super 12) match at the MCG because I was in the first match between Australia and New Zealand (the day before the SCG). I did commentary on the match.”

Watson was quoted as saying by the tournament’s official website that, “But according to all the spectators that went with that match everyone said it was something special and this match was definitely an amazing match to watch on TV as well. They played in the T20 World Cup final in 2007 and this time also the same is expected.”

Group 1 Table Toppers New Zealand is in form in all departments. On the other hand, Pakistan won three matches in a row after losing the first two matches and got a golden opportunity to enter the last-four stage after the Netherlands defeated South Africa.

Watson feels that Pakistan’s face-off against New Zealand in the semi-finals will be extremely dangerous. He said, ‚ÄúThere are times in all tournaments, where somehow a team reaches the final and then wins it. Especially the way the Pakistani team played, this entire tournament is definitely going to make it to the semi-finals. Wasn’t expecting.”

semifinal battle

In the semi-final, Pakistan has to play New Zealand on 9 November at the Sydney Cricket Ground. At the same time, a day after that i.e. on November 10, the second semi-final between India and England will be played at the Adelaide Oval. The two teams met in the opening match of Group 2 at the MCG on 23 October, where Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 82 not out helped India win the chase.
