T20 World Cup 2022: India’s journey in the T20 World Cup was not special. India suffered a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of England in the semi-finals. Batting first in this match, India gave a target of 169 runs to England. In reply, England chased this target in 16 overs without losing any wicket. After losing the match, the head coach of the team, Rahul Dravid said that we were looking to score 180 or 185 runs. India got off to a slow start in this match. Team’s opener KL Rahul also failed in this match. But Rohit Sharma played a very slow innings in this match. Due to his innings, India fell behind their set target.
Rohit Sharma scored 27 runs in 28 balls in this match. His innings is the third slowest innings (minimum 20 balls) played by an Indian in a T20 World Cup knockout. Guess Rohit Sharma does not bat so slow in T20. Yuvraj Singh is at the first place in the list of slow innings played by Indians in the knockouts of the T20 World Cup. He scored 11 runs off 21 balls against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2014 T20 World Cup. India had to face defeat in this match. The failure of the top order batsmen of Team India in important matches is a matter of concern.
