Taking bribe from truck driver one traffic sub inspector and two constables suspended

Uttar Pradesh: A Traffic Sub Inspector (TSI) and two constables were suspended for allegedly demanding bribe from a truck driver at an underpass in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area in UP. According to a statement issued by the police, Joint Commissioner of Police Piyush Moradia noticed a truck parked at Abhimanyu Underpass on Saturday night and inquired about its driver.

According to the statement, Traffic Sub Inspector Raju Bhaskar and two constables Dharmendra Singh and Ankur took the driver aside. The driver complained that all three were demanding bribe from him. Acting on this allegation, Moradiya suspended the TSI and two constables. A departmental inquiry has also been ordered against them.

Bribe was taken from the officer to cover up the bribery case: Ludhiana

Recently, in Ludhiana, Punjab, a person had filed a case of taking bribe against a government official. According to the police, the person who filed the case was caught taking money himself from the concerned officer to cover up the matter. The accused Sukhjinder Singh, a resident of Chak Roriwala village in Fazilka district, had lodged a complaint against Junior Engineer Swaran Rani, officials said. The accused had lodged a report against the officer demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 from him. Officials said that the Vigilance Department had caught Rani red-handed taking bribe from Sukhjinder.

The agreement was settled for Rs 11 lakh

However, later Rani’s brother Sandeep Singh filed a complaint against Sukhjinder accusing him of demanding Rs 15 lakh to withdraw the case. Singh claimed that Sukhjinder had told about some acquaintance in the Vigilance Department while demanding the money. According to officials, Rani’s brother Sandeep and Sukhjinder reached an agreement for Rs 11 lakh, out of which Rs 1 lakh was to be paid immediately. He said that the Vigilance Commission caught Sukhjinder red-handed taking money from Sandeep.
