Officer touched CM’s feet

Hyderabad: Telangana Director of Public Health Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao Chief Minister Of. Chandrasekhar Rao He created a controversy by touching his feet. Top officials of the health department were seen touching the feet of the chief minister not once but twice during a program at his official residence on Tuesday. The video clip of the same went viral on Thursday.

The occasion was the inauguration of eight new government medical colleges by the Chief Minister. Srinivasa Rao was first seen presenting a bouquet to the Chief Minister. The officer then took out a paper from his trouser pocket and handed it over to the CM, who kept it in his shirt pocket. He then bent down to touch KCR’s feet. Srinivasa was seen pleading with folded hands.

Even after this, when the matter did not work, then when he was leaving, he again touched KCR’s feet and again folded his hands and pleaded for something. It is not clear what the officer’s written and oral requests were, but there is speculation that he is trying to get a TRS ticket to contest the next assembly elections. The officer is being criticized everywhere. Opposition parties and people called it sycophancy. Some netizens commented that despite repeated requests and touching feet of Srinivasa Rao, the ticket for the Khammam seat has not been confirmed.

In June last year, P. Venkataraman Reddy, the then district collector of Siddipet, courted controversy by touching the chief minister’s feet during the inauguration of the new building of the collector’s office, five months after he took voluntary retirement to join politics and KCR Made him a member of the Telangana Legislative Council.
