A case of encounter between army personnel and unidentified militants has come to light in Tinsukia district of Assam on Monday. According to a defense spokesperson, an army team was patrolling in the Barpathar area early in the morning. That’s when the encounter started. According to defense sources, the army patrol was on routine patrolling duty when the encounter was taking place. The search operation is still on.

According to army sources, a vehicle of the patrol convoy was damaged in the attack by the militants. As soon as the attack was done, the army personnel immediately swung into action and started firing while taking the front. During this, on the other hand, the search operation was also started in the forest.
Local people heard the sounds of the blast
Local people say about this encounter that during this time the sound of a big bang was heard. According to the information, the Pengeri-Digboi road has been closed for the general public and additional security forces including Assam Police have been deployed in the area.
Terrorists escaped in retaliatory firing: SP Tinsukia
SP Tinsukia Gaurav Abhijeet said that during the encounter some terrorists tried to attack the bullet proof vehicle of the army. The army retaliated. The terrorists fled. The search operation is still on.
