During the pandemic, the government had imposed several restrictions while traveling by flights. In view of the calm wave of Korana in the country and other countries, the government has taken a big decision. Many people were troubled by this rule, while some people found it right. Although now the government has taken the decision, if you do not even follow this rule, then no problem or challan is going to be deducted.
What is the decision of the government?
Keeping in mind the decreasing cases of Kovid-19 in the country, the government on Wednesday removed the compulsion of wearing masks in flights. The Civil Aviation Ministry said that the decision has been taken after a review meeting on the issue with the Health Ministry. The matter relating to the requirement of mandatory use of masks or face covers during air travel has been reviewed in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Masks can be used voluntarily
In line with the Government of India’s policy of graded approach to COVID-19 management response, henceforth flight announcements will only mention that in view of the threat posed by COVID-19, all passengers will be required to wear masks/clothes, the ministry said in an office memorandum. Face cover should be used.
Now there will be no penalty
The ministry said that no reference to fines will be announced with respect to the use of masks. Any specific reference to fine/punitive action is not required to be announced as part of the flight announcements. Therefore, the order dated 10th May 2022 has been modified. In June this year, airlines were told to ensure that all passengers wear face masks properly and continue to wear them throughout the journey and that masks can be removed only in exceptional circumstances and when absolutely necessary.
