UP Madrasa Survey: Yogi Adityanath’s government is conducting a survey of madrassas in UP these days. The survey work of district-district, tehsil-tehsil, block-block and village-village madrasas is going on at a brisk pace. But AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has been troubled by this move of Chief Minister Yogi. At the same time, there is resentment in the Muslim society against this move of the government. Surprisingly, without knowing the reason for the survey, people of Muslim society including Owaisi have started a ruckus. But do you know why there was a need to conduct a survey of madrasas..? Let us tell you.

In fact, the number of illegal madrassas in UP is increasing continuously. These illegal madrasas are opening from village to village and street to street. They have neither any registration nor any written order from the government. Despite this, madrasas are being run indiscriminately. The level of education among them is also not good. Yogi government is working to provide good and computerized education in legitimate madrasas. According to the Minister of Minority Affairs in UP, Danish Ansari, the purpose of conducting the survey of madrasas is to test the quality of education there and connect it with state-of-the-art technology where there is no good education. At the same time, people of other Muslim society including Owaisi are telling the purpose of conducting this survey to harass Muslims. Owaisi has created a ruckus by calling this move of the government like a mini NRC law. He is misleading the people of Muslim society. However, it is certain that the government will also get the madrassas opened illegally closed. This is the reason for the real protest.

Madrasas have been in controversy

The government is also considering it necessary to conduct a survey of madrasas because some madrasas have often been in controversy due to anti-national activities. In such a situation, the government has every right to know where what kind of education is being given. The government will also get the madrassas found illegal in the survey to be closed. The madrassas from Azamgarh to Mau, Deoband have got terrorist connections in the past. Ten terrorists arrested in the last 10 years have connections with madrassas located in Deoband, Saharanpur.

When these madrassas came into the limelight due to terrorist connections

In the year 2018, NIA arrested 13 suspected terrorists of ISIS module Harkat-ul-Harb-e-Islam from Amroha. They were also related to the madrassas of Deoband. In the year 2019, UP ATS caught terrorists Shahnawaz Teli and Aaqib Ahmed Malik from Deoband. These terrorists had prior knowledge of the attack on CRPF in Pulwama. Investigation revealed that both of them had lived in the hostel of Deoband for a long time.
Similarly, in December 2020, Abdullah Danish, a member of the banned organization Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was arrested by UP ATS and Delhi Police from Aligarh on charges of bomb blasts in Ahmedabad in the year 2008. This terrorist was revealed to be related to Jamia-tul-Falah Madrasa of Aligarh.
In March 2022, UP ATS nabbed Inamul Haque from Deoband in Saharanpur. It was also related to the hostel here. In the investigation, evidence of his links with Lashkar-e-Taiba was found. He also used to upload jihadi videos on YouTube.

Recently, before the Independence Day on August 15, UP ATS caught Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Habibul Islam alias Saifullah from Kanpur. It was related to the terrorist Nadeem arrested from Deoband. Intelligence agencies had received information that he was planning a big blast under the Pakistani Intelligence Agency (ISI). A resident of Etawah, he was preparing terrorist modules in UP and Uttarakhand at the behest of ISI.
