UP News: UP CM Yogi Adityanath has made a big announcement regarding VAT (Value-Added Tax). He said on Friday that keeping in mind the interests of the people, the government has decided that there will be no increase in VAT and no new tax will be imposed in the state. During this, he also said that there will be no increase in VAT in the coming time as well. The CM also held a meeting with the officials of the tax department to increase the revenue.

In the meeting, CM Yogi also inquired about the status of registration of traders in GST and what efforts are being made for evasion of GST-VAT tax. During this, the CM also gave instructions that efforts should be made to increase the revenue.

CM Yogi said that there has been an increase in the revenue collection of the state. The total revenue collection of the state was Rs 58,700 crore in the financial year 2017-18, which has increased to about Rs 1 lakh crore in the year 2021-22. Collection of Rs 32,386 crore against the target of Rs 31,786 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. The CM also said that every week target will be given to the regional officers at the government level to increase the revenue collection.
