Devotees of Shiva are bringing Ganges water for the Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva with great devotion and are consecrating Lord Shiva. But there are some anti-social elements who are attacking the Kanwariyas during this period. Somewhere stones are being pelted at them, and somewhere dirty water is being thrown at them. Now one such incident has happened in a Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.
The case is of Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. It is being told that a batch of hundreds of kanwariyas were going from Lakhaura village. As soon as the group of Kanwariyas reached village Parganwa, people of other community blocked their way. People started protesting against DJ playing by Kanwariyas. It is being told that during this time people from other communities also poured dirty water from the roof on the Kanwariyas, and also beat up a Kanwariya. The Kavadis created a ruckus over this matter and demanded action. On the information of the incident, police and top officials of several police stations reached the spot.
Dirty water thrown on Kanwariyas
Now in this case, the police have arrested six people by registering an FIR. Police said that a group of Kanwariyas from Lakhaura village under Kikant police station area was leaving Pargwan village on Friday. Some people from other community in the village objected to the DJ playing and at the same time someone threw water from the terrace on the group of Kanwariyas, after which a dispute ensued.
On the information of the uproar, the police and administration officials reached the spot and sent the kanwariyas after explaining them. Superintendent of Police (city) Ravindra Kumar said that there was a dispute regarding playing of DJ. There is also an allegation of throwing water on the Kanwariyas. Six people have been taken into custody in the case.
Situation under control but police force deployed in the village
Bareilly’s Additional District Magistrate Administration VK Singh told that police force is deployed in the village. He said that arrangements have been made for the safety of the Kanwariyas who are going to collect water from the river Ganga. VK Singh further said that action would be taken against those who tried to stop the Kanwariyas. However, now the situation is said to be under control.
