UP News: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against Gayatri Prajapati, who was a minister in the Samajwadi Party government of Uttar Pradesh. ED has seized benami property worth crores of rupees in Lucknow. It has been reported that Gayatri Prajapati had taken this land in the name of his servant. The ED has so far attached Gayatri Prajapati’s assets worth Rs 90 crore. It is worth noting that Gayatri Prajapati is currently serving a sentence in jail on charges of rape.
ED seizes Gayatri’s 10 bigha land
According to the information received, the ED has taken possession of 10 bighas of land. It is being said that Gayatri Prajapati had taken 10 bighas of land in the village in the name of his servant Inderjit Kheda during the SP government. Here Gayatri was getting the plotting work done. In such a situation, the ED became active and went to the village and took possession of the land. On the basis of DM circle rate, the value of this land is being told in crores.
ED put up board on the ground
The ED has also put up a board by taking possession of the land. It is written in it that this land is in the possession of ED under Section 8(4) of the Money Amendment Act 2002 (PMLA). Strict action will be taken against those who encroach on this land. Revenue personnel of Mohanlalganj tehsil had also reached along with ED for action on Gayatri Prajapati’s land. Prajapati has been embroiled in controversies many times before.
Jail in gang rape case
When Gayatri Prajapati was a minister in the SP government, a woman from Chitrakoot had accused Gayatri, including 6 people, of gang-raping her minor daughter. The woman alleged that she had gone to the minister’s residence, where she was given intoxicants and the minor daughter was gang-raped. At that time, the matter had caught a lot of attention, after which the matter reached the Supreme Court. After this Gayatri and her companions were imprisoned.
