Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition questioning Yogi Adityanath’s continuance as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh after September 25, 2022. The bench also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on the petitioner for wasting the court’s time by filing a frivolous petition. A bench of Justice AR Masoodi and Justice OP Shukla passed the order on a petition filed by Dr. M. Smile Farooqui.

This order is dated November 11, which became available on Wednesday. The petitioner urged the bench to order Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to present legal documents in support of continuing in office even after 25 September 2022. The bench observed that the petitioner has not cited any reason as to why the bench should issue such an order.

The bench also observed that in the past also the petitioner had filed a similar petition and withdrawn the same. He again filed the same petition without taking permission from the court.
