Uttar Pradesh News: A constable has committed suicide by shooting himself in Prayagraj. A police constable posted in the Reserve Police Lines in the city allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his carbine gun on Wednesday. The police informed about this. Police is investigating about it.

Reason of suicide not known

Superintendent of Police (city) Dinesh Kumar Singh said, “29-year-old Akash Kumar was a constable of 2019 batch and was posted in the police lines. Akash was a resident of Mathura. He shot himself with his carbine gun on Wednesday evening.” He said that the officers posted in the police line took Akash to the hospital where he was treated for some time, but he could not be saved. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained, the official said, adding that the police is investigating in this regard.

Such cases have come before

A few days ago, a head constable in UP’s Bulandshahr committed suicide by shooting himself with a government INSAS rifle. The main constable Brajveer was a resident of Meerut. Police reached the spot and took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. Police is engaged in the investigation of the matter. According to the information, he lived in a rented house near the police line in Bulandshahr. Brajveer reached his home after his duty on Thursday afternoon and suddenly shot himself with an INSAS rifle and died on the spot. His wife and grand-daughter were also present at the house at the time of the incident.

Hearing the sound of bullets, the family members were stunned and when they went into the room, they saw Brajveer lying on the ground bleeding. After getting information about the matter, SP City Surendra Nath Tiwari, Inspector in-charge of Kotwali Nagar reached the spot. Forensic team inspected the spot and also recovered INSAS rifle from the spot.
