Uttar Pradesh: Retired DSP of Uttar Pradesh Jagdish Singh proved that ‘age is just a number’ by getting the country a gold medal at the age of 60. Jagdish Singh has won the gold medal in the 10 kilometer race to be held under the World Police and Fire Games held in Amsterdam, the capital of Netherlands. Not only has he made the country proud by winning the gold medal, but has also increased the popularity of UP Police all over the world. Let us tell you that more than 8,500 players from 50 countries have participated in the World Police and Fire Games. More than 60 unique sports are going to be held in this event. Retired DSP of Uttar Pradesh Police Jagdish Singh is originally from Meerut. He had retired from the police department five years back.

Completed race in 55 minutes 19 seconds

At the age of 60, when common people have to face difficulties in walking more, at that age, retired DSP of UP Police Jagdish Singh not only finished the 10 km race, but also won the gold medal by topping it. The biggest thing is that he completed this race in just 55 minutes 19 seconds. Jagdish Singh is the only Indian athlete to compete in his category from Police.

Indian athletes have arrived at personal expense

This time in the World Police and Fire Games, Indian players have not gone to the government expense. Rather, he has participated in this event at his own expense. Actually, this event was to be held in the year 2021 itself, but due to Corona epidemic it had to be postponed. A total of 30 players from India have reached the Netherlands to participate in this event at their own expense.
