After this defeat of Team India, the tournament’s leading run scorer and India’s run machine Virat Kohli looked quite disappointed. After the match, it was clearly visible how emotional Virat was and his eyes were clearly showing disappointment. After this defeat, on Friday, Virat also wrote an emotional post on social media.

In this post, Virat Kohli mentioned about his and the team’s dream not being fulfilled. Also thanked all the fans and supporters. Team India may have missed the cup by losing in the knockout from this tournament, but Virat, who has batted this time, has again told the whole world that King is back. Virat Kohli scored a total of 296 runs in 6 innings of 6 matches. During this he also scored four half-centuries. He is currently the top scorer of the tournament. Virat will be behind only if Alex Hales (211) makes 86 runs and Jos Buttler (199) makes 98 runs in the final.

Along with scoring the most runs in the tournament, Virat Kohli also holds the record for the most runs in the history of this tournament. He achieved this feat in the match against Bangladesh, leaving behind Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene. He now has 1141 runs in 25 innings of 27 matches in the T20 World Cup. While Jayawardene scored 1016 runs in 31 innings of 31 matches. In the semi-final match against England, Virat also made a record of completing 4000 T20 International runs and he is the only player in the world to do so.
