Now the Indian team will tour New Zealand. For this, National Cricket Academy (NCA) Chief VVS Laxman has been appointed as the coach of the Indian team. According to the information, it is being said that Laxman has been entrusted with this responsibility as a caretaker to give a break to the coaching staff led by Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup.
The Indian team had lost to England by 10 wickets in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup on Thursday. Now India has to play white ball series in New Zealand. On this tour, the team will play three T20s and as many ODIs. The tour will begin in Wellington from 18 November. Senior players like regular captain Rohit Sharma, star batsman Virat Kohli, opener KL Rahul and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have been rested on the tour. Also, the coaching staff has also been given a break after the T20 World Cup.
Laxman has already handled the responsibility
A BCCI (Cricket Board of India) source told PTI, “The NCA team led by Laxman will be associated with the team going to New Zealand which includes Hrishikesh Kanitkar (batting coach) and Sairaj Bahule (bowling coach).” That this is not the first time that Laxman has been given this responsibility in the Indian team. Earlier, the cricketer had coached the team for the last time during the tour of Zimbabwe and Ireland and the ODI series against South Africa.

Team India will be led by Hardik and Dhawan
On this tour, the Indian team will play the T20 series under the leadership of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. At the same time, batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be the captain of the team in the ODI series. Team India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma will return on the Bangladesh tour. Kohli and Ashwin will also join the team for the Bangladesh tour itself. India will play three ODIs and two test matches in Bangladesh. The tour will start from December 4. Players who are not part of the New Zealand tour have started leaving after the team’s exclusion from the T20 World Cup. While Virat Kohli has left from Adelaide and Rahul and Rohit are also expected to leave soon. A lot of team players will travel from Sydney and Perth.
