The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in 41 districts including Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur on September 2 and 3. JP Gupta, Director, Meteorological Department said, “The state has recorded 2.9 mm of rain in 24 hours. The highest rainfall was recorded in Maharajganj region at 44.3 mm. Also Gorakhpur received 28.7 mm of rain. Apart from this, Shravasti received 20.6 mm of rain. mm and Siddharthnagar recorded 26.2 mm of rain.
60% less rain than average in 24 hours
JP Gupta said that in 24 hours, the state received 60% less rain than the estimate. It was predicted that 7.1 mm of rain would fall, but only 2.9 mm of rain was recorded. Apart from this, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Moradabad, Heavy rain will also occur in Rampur, Pilibhit, Badaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur. Strong winds with a speed of 40 to 70 kilometers per hour can also occur in these districts along with lightning.
