West Bengal News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed grief over the death of people in a pickup van electrocuted in West Bengal and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.

10 died due to electrocution

At least 10 people were killed and 14 others injured when a pickup van carrying passengers going to Jalpaiguri in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district was electrocuted, police said on Monday.

PMO tweeted

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted, quoting Modi, “Saddened by the loss of lives in a van electrocuted in Sitalkuchi, West Bengal. Condolences to the bereaved families. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery.” Am.” The PMO said that apart from giving Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 50,000 each would be given to the injured.

A major accident happened late Sunday night in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Here 10 passengers going to Jalpesh had died. The cause of death is said to be electrocution. According to the information received, these passengers were going to Jalpesh. There is also a Shiv temple here. The vehicle had a DJ system and a generator. During this, there was a short circuit in the wire and the passengers in the pickup got hit by it.

According to reports, around 30 people were sitting in this vehicle.
