Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh School Education Minister Premsai Singh Tekam has come into the limelight for his statement. Tekam, referring to lines from Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s famous poem ‘Madhushala’, said that alcohol unites people but it should be consumed in a controlled manner. This remark of the minister during a drug de-addiction program in Balrampur district of the state on Tuesday has created a controversy. The opposition BJP has criticized him, saying that there is no dearth of ‘cartoons’ in the Bhupesh Baghel government and the Congress party.

The video of a speech given in Vadrafnagar during the ‘Deaddiction Campaign’ organized by Balrampur District Police went viral on social media on Thursday. School students were also present in this program. During this, Tekam said, “Harivansh Rai Bachchan ji used to make a temple-mosque quarrel, but wrote a karati tavern. But there should be control (in the consumption of alcohol). You should control yourself.” He said, “I had attended a meeting in which one section opposed the consumption of alcohol citing its side effects, while the other section cited its benefits. “One side said what are the benefits of daaru (liquor). Wine unites everyone. We also sometimes use it in celebrations and elections. In the context of Daru it is said that ‘Daru’ means ‘D’. If water is mixed with alcohol, then there should be a dilution. There should be as much dilution as possible. After that it should have duration. It is not that they kill each other in one go. ”The minister cited the ill-effects of alcohol in the program and said that it should not be addicted.

Soon after the video went viral, senior BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar mocked the minister and said, “Bhupesh Baghel’s government and party are full of cartoons and none of them understand the subject. It is not a government which is working but it is a ‘puppet show’ being controlled by Delhi (citing Congress high command).

Recently, Krishnamurthy Bandhi, a BJP MLA in the state, courted controversy by suggesting that the use of cannabis and ganja should be encouraged as substitutes for alcohol for intoxication.
