Climate finance has been an important issue for India
The meeting of COP-27 regarding climate change or climate change is held in Egypt this time from 6 to 18 November. More than 120 world leaders are going to attend this conference. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav is representing it on behalf of India. UNFCCC is a global agreement, which has been signed by 197 countries so far. Its aim is to control the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

The full name of COP is ‘Conference of Parties’. India is also its member. The first conference of the COP was held in Berlin on March 1995, since then it has continued continuously. This time the 27th COP is going to happen. All issues related to climate change are discussed in the United Nations Framework Convention. Its purpose is to bring attention to climate disaster and to promote efforts towards preventing climate change.

Climate finance has been an important issue for India. Climate change has emerged as the biggest challenge for the whole world in the 21st century. India aims to control the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Before attending this conference, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said, ‘India will demand finance and technology transfer for developing countries from developed countries. So that developing countries can be helped to deal with the challenges of climate change. India will seek clarification on the separation of public and private finance, be it grants, loans, or subsidies. Public and private finance should be separated. This is our holistic approach. More clarity is needed on the definition of climate finance.
