Dilip Singh Judeo: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will be involved in several programs during his four-day visit to Chhattisgarh. During his visit, Bhagwat will unveil a statue of late Dilip Singh Judeo, a former BJP MP and Union minister, in tribal-dominated Jashpur district, an RSS functionary said. RSS’s Chhattisgarh unit’s provincial campaign chief Kaniram said Bhagwat would unveil the statue today and address a public meeting on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day.

Tribal Pride Day is celebrated on 15 November, the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, to remember the contribution of tribal freedom fighters. Let us tell you that in the politics of Chhattisgarh, Dilip Singh Judev is considered the face of the homecoming campaign. During his political journey, Dilip Singh Judeo got a large number of tribals converted from Christianity to Hinduism. It is believed that with this program, preparations have been made to give a big message to the people of the state regarding Hindutva and conversion.

MP in both houses and minister in Atal government
Dilip Singh Judev was from the Jashpur royal family and was a big leader of BJP in the state. He was a two-time Lok Sabha MP from Bilaspur and a three-time Rajya Sabha MP. He was also a Union Minister in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Now that the BJP is trying to regain power in the state, the party is missing Dilip Singh Judeo.

The practice of saying Jai Judev instead of Namaskar
Dilip Singh was very popular among the Judeo tribals. The influence of Dilip Singh Judeo among the tribals was such that even today the tribals say Jai Judev instead of Namaskar while meeting each other. Judev ji has always been against Christian missionary and conversion. During his life, he organized many programs to get the tribals home, due to which he became the face of the BJP’s Ghar Wapsi campaign. Dilip Singh Judev died in 2013 at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after a prolonged illness.
