Jharkhand News: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone of World Trade Center in Ranchi on Friday. In this center all facilities for international trade will be available at one place and this will boost exports. Speaking on the occasion, Soren said that this center will connect Jharkhand’s business with other states of the country as well as with other countries.

The Chief Minister said, “Our aim is to strengthen the rural economy and create self-employment opportunities. In this sequence, we have brought the brand Palash in the market, under which indigenous products made by self-help groups of women are introduced. We aim to create a market of Rs 1,000 crore for this brand.” The state government had introduced the Palash brand in September 2020 to promote rural entrepreneurship and employment. The World Trade Center is being built on 3.45 acres of land near the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly building. Officials said the construction work is expected to be completed in the next two years.

World Trade Center being built at a cost of Rs 47 crores

Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, said that the construction cost of the center is Rs 47 crore. In this Rs 19.6 crore will be contributed by the Center and Rs 27.4 crore will be given by the state government. He said that all facilities like Indian Export Office, currency exchange, display area and seminar hall would be available at one place in the centre.
