Yasin Malik News: Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik, convicted by the court, was discharged after four days in the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here and returned to Tihar Jail. Director General (Prisons) Sandeep Goel said that Malik was brought back to Tihar on Friday. Returning to his cell, Malik decides to continue his hunger strike and is still not eating. The jailed separatist leader, who is currently lodged in Jail No 7 of Tihar Jail, went on a hunger strike on July 22. Malik was admitted to the hospital by the jail authorities after his health deteriorated following his hunger strike on July 26. When asked about the reason for the hunger strike, the officer refused to divulge anything. However, jail sources said that Kashmiri separatists are protesting against the agencies that are probing their cases.
Pakistan had raised objection, summoned the Indian consulate
Significantly, Pakistan objected to the deteriorating health of Yasin Malik, lodged in Tihar Jail. For this, he had summoned the Indian Deputy Ambassador. It is worth mentioning that Yasin, who is the chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, was one of the main architects of the separatist violence in Jammu and Kashmir in the year 1990s. In May 2022, he was found guilty of criminal conspiracy and waging war against the state. In this case, he is serving a life sentence. He accepted most of the charges against him. Yasin had said in the court that he will not challenge the charges of raising funds for terrorists, terrorist activity, terror conspiracy, criminal conspiracy to become a member of a terrorist group and sedition.
There are many serious allegations against Yasin
Yasin has been accused of killing 4 Air Force personnel in 1990. This attack on Air Force personnel took place on 25 January 1990. Then these jawans were waiting for the bus to the airport in Srinagar. In this attack 4 were martyred and around 40 people were injured.
